Finals of Miss Missouri’s Outstanding Teen Scholarship Pageant began Friday evening with the announcement of the top 11 finalists at Missouri Military Academy. Miss Gateway St. Louis’ Outstanding Teen Demi King received the People’s Choice award. Two weeks leading up to the pageant, fans could go online and cast their votes for their favorite candidate. As the People’s Choice winner, Demi received a $250 scholarship.

Miss Audrain’s Outstanding Teen Taylor Blackwell of Frankford. She is the daughter of Troy and Amy Blackwell. Taylor’s a student at Bowling Green High School.
Miss Branson’s Outstanding Teen Abilene Lortz of St. James. She is the daughter of Jason and Katie Lortz. Abilene is a student at John F. Hodge High School.
Miss Fleur de Lis’ Outstanding Teen Abbie Mueller of St. Louis. She is the daughter of Brandon and Amanda Mueller. Abbie is a student at the Whitefield School.
Miss Heartland’s Outstanding Teen Ashley Whipple of Chesterfield. She is the daughter of Andy and Donna Whipple. Ashley is home-schooled.
Miss Kansas City’s Outstanding Teen Avery Beavers of Lee’s Summit. She is the daughter of Brian and Christy Beavers. Avery attends Lee’s Summit High School.
Miss Metro St. Louis’ Outstanding Teen Lauren Vanlandingham of Ladue. She is the daughter of Chad and Jennifer Vanlandingham and the granddaughter of Becky and Linden Vanlandingham of Santa Fe. Lauren is a student at Ladue Horton Watkins High School.
Miss Northwest’s Outstanding Teen Faith Whatley-Blaine of Florissant. She is the daughter of Jim Blaine and Nancy Whatley. She is a student at Nerinx Hall.
Miss River City’s Outstanding Teen Claire Rowe of Creve Coeur. She is the daughter of Caroline Rowe and Dana Carter. Claire attends Ladue Horton Watkins High School.
Miss Springfield’s Outstanding Teen Shae Smith of Bolivar. She is the daughter of Mark and Angie Smith. Shae is a student at Bolivar High School.
Miss Zona Rosa’s Outstanding Teen Sarah Kasubke of Mexico. She is the daughter of Bruce and Mary Ann Kasubke. Sarah attends Mexico High School.
This group of young ladies will continue competing tonight for the title of Miss Missouri’s Outstanding Teen. The winner of the scholarship pageant will receive a $5,000 scholarship as well as an official prize package. Members of the class of 2018 are eligible for $12,000 in various scholarships.
The winner will travel to Orlando in July to compete for the title of Miss America’s Outstanding Teen. This is a division of the Miss America Organization, which is the largest provider of college scholarships to young women in the country.
