Missouri Community College Association (MCCA) has officially closed out another successful year of its Leadership Academy, marking the completion of the 2025/2026 cohort.
Running from fall through spring, the Leadership Academy is MCCA’s flagship professional development program designed to cultivate the next generation of community college leaders across Missouri. Participating colleges each nominate at least one employee in a leadership role, building a stronger, more connected statewide talent pipeline.
Throughout the program, participants deepened their knowledge of Missouri’s higher education landscape, sharpened their leadership skills, and gained firsthand insight into the unique role community colleges play in their regions. Cohort members engaged in campus visits throughout the state and a session at the Missouri State Capitol, with all programming anchored in the leadership competencies established by the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC).
“Each stop on the Leadership Academy reminds us how strong Missouri’s community colleges are when we work together,” said MCCA President and CEO Brian Millner. “Bringing leaders together to share ideas and learn from one another strengthens not only our institutions, but the students and communities we serve.”
Participants represented all levels and divisions across the 12 member colleges, bringing a broad range of perspectives and experiences to each session.
Applications for the next Leadership Academy cohort will open later this year. Those interested in participating should connect with their college’s president or chancellor to learn more about the selection process.
