With the racing season completed on Lucas Oil Speedway’s dirt track following the week-long USRA Nationals, two big weekends of motorsports action remain beginning with UTV Short Course event this Saturday.
The Off Road track will fire up for the final UTV Short Course program of the 2022 season, with practice set to begin at 10 a.m., heat races at noon and features to follow. This is the fourth round of UTV Short Course racing this season.
Race classes will include Pro N/A (naturally aspirated), Pro, Youth 1000, Youth 570, Youth 170 Mod, Youth 170 Stock, Sportsman, Women’s and Mini Stock Truck. The program will be completed by 5 p.m.
“We’ve had a good season of UTV Short Course racing and we look forward to closing out the season with a good turnout of drivers,” Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Danny Lorton said. “We want to invite all the fans to come on out and take in the action.”
Round 3 of UTV Short Course on Aug. 20 saw a total of 41 entries in the eight divisions. Winners were Kurt Driemeyer (UTV Sportsman), Gage Hughes (UTV Pro Turbo), Brock Lawson (Pro Naturally Aspirated), Caden Hall (Youth 1000), Case Beeman (Youth 170 Mod), Hattie Cowan (Youth 170 Stock), Bree Seek (UTV Women) and Kennedee Hartsell (Youth 570).

8 a.m. – Pit Gate Opens, Registration/Tech Opens
9 a.m. – Spectator gates open
9:30 a.m. – Drivers’ meeting
10 a.m. – Registration closes, practice sessions
Noon – Heat racing begins

Swap meet also on Saturday: Lucas Oil Speedway also will be hosting a Swap Meet and Flea Market in the dirt track pit area on Saturday, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Vendor booth fee is $30 with a set-up time of 7-9 a.m. Cars, parts, collectibles, antiques, crafts, household items and all types of vendors are welcome. Admission is $6 for ages 13-and-over with 12-and-under free. There will be a food vendor on site.
Monster Trucks on Oct. 22: The O’Reilly Auto Parts Outlaw Monster Truck Show – Eve of Destruction will wrap up the Lucas Oil Speedway season on Saturday night, Oct. 22. Eight of the nation’s top monster trucks are scheduled to be on hand to headline the big program, that includes Pro and Stock Tuff Truck Racing, Monster Truck Backflips, a Pit Party and Autograph Session and Mighty Monster Bus Ride Truck.
