The 2026 Missouri State Fair is officially underway, and Opening Day kicked off with one of the Fair’s favorite traditions—the Opening Day Parade!
Celebrating this year’s “Show-Me Stars & Stripes” theme, the parade brought plenty of Missouri pride to Sedalia as participants filled the route with colorful entries, farm vehicles, antique cars, music, horses and more.
From local organizations and 4-H members to tractor enthusiasts, musicians and equine participants, the parade offered a fitting start to another exciting Missouri State Fair.
Following the parade, the Missouri State Fair announced the 2026 Opening Day Parade winners.

The Opening Day Parade is about more than competition. It showcases the people, organizations, agriculture, communities and traditions that make Missouri special—and this year’s participants certainly brought the Show-Me Stars & Stripes spirit to Sedalia.
With the parade complete, the Fair is just getting started. Fairgoers can look forward to days filled with agriculture, livestock shows, exhibits, competitions, live entertainment, carnival rides, incredible fair food and plenty of Missouri traditions.
