MU invites public to grand opening of Land of the Osages Research Center

Gravois Mills, Missouri – The University of Missouri’s College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources (CAFNR) is inviting everyone to the grand opening of the Land of the Osages Research Center on Tuesday, Oct. 29. The first new center to open in CAFNR’s Agricultural Experiment Station network in more than 30 years, the center will be devoted to research in agroforestry.

An entire day of events are planned to mark the occasion. Opening ceremonies honoring the center’s partnership with the Osage Nation will begin at 10 a.m., with a lunch at noon. A field day will run from 1-4 p.m.

Chief Standing Bear and many other leaders from the Osage Nation will be in attendance for the day’s festivities, as well as representatives from MU and CAFNR.

The event is going to be held on Tuesday, October 29th. Check-in begins at 9:00 am. with opening ceremonies at 10:00 am. Lunch will be held at noon, registration is required to attend lunch, and can be completed at cafnralumni.com/LORC2019. Field day will be 1:00 – 4:00 pm.
