175 Feet Tall and Nearly 400 Feet Above the Lake: The Wheel Rises at Oasis Lake of the Ozarks

It’s big, round, spins, and puts on a show! Oasis Lake of the Ozarks’ largest attraction is starting to take shape. With a structure that stands 175 feet tall, the Wheel at Oasis Lake of the Ozarks will tower nearly 400 feet above the lake’s surface providing the most sweeping and expansive views of mid Missouri’s beautiful natural landscape. “Ferris wheels represent a celebration of America, uniquely combining nostalgia, panoramic views and a sense of excitement,” said Todd Schneider, operating managing partner for Oasis Lake of the Ozarks.

Visitors seeking a special, sharable experience will be treated to breathtaking views on a world-class ride featuring 30 fully enclosed spherical-shaped glass gondolas, each equipped with heat and air for year-round comfort and enjoyment. Each gondola is suspended on the outside of the Wheel’s ring, making the journey distinguishable from other regional Ferris Wheels, and permitting unobstructed views.

The ride will have a programmable light show that will create dramatic lighting displays using color and movement. “The show aspect of the Wheel’s lighting displays will make it more than an attraction — it will make it a gathering place for the entire lake community,” said Schneider. “Whether families are coming off the lake by boat or arriving by car, the Wheel at Oasis will be a place to come together for a meal, some playtime, a ride and an evening out. We want it to become a convenient destination that people return to again and again.”

While the lake will always be a boater’s paradise, the Wheel at Oasis will offer a new and exciting way to see the lake vista. Daytime rides and night rides will each offer captivating adventures of their own. Riders can expect about a 10-to-12-minute ride duration. Ride tickets will be offered as part of a discounted unlimited ride package which includes other rides at Oasis or as an individual single ride ticket.

The Oasis amusement park, parking garage, and boat slips are scheduled to open in the first phase in Spring 2027. The indoor water park and Oasis Marriot Resort & Conference Center will soon follow. When complete, Oasis Lake of the Ozarks will operate as a year-round destination featuring multiple restaurants, on-premise hotel rooms, and a wide range of attractions, including two roller coasters.
