Help us celebrate and thank law enforcement and firefighters with a day full of activities on Law Enforcement/Firefighter Appreciation Day, sponsored by Pepsi, Saturday, Aug. 9, at the Missouri State Fair. In appreciation of our law enforcement, firefighters, EMTs, and paramedics, we are offering FREE gate admission with an appropriate I.D., and $1 gate admission for their immediate family members (spouse and dependent children), as well as discounts at select concessions and vendors throughout the Fair (some discounts may only apply to law enforcement and firefighter personnel).
The Missouri State Fair is excited to host a new special event to show appreciation to these men and women: Cover the Cruiser, in partnership with FirstNet, built with AT&T, and Special Olympics of Missouri. We will provide the sticky notes and markers, and Fairgoers will provide notes of thanks and encouragement and place them on law enforcement and firefighter vehicles on display in front of the MEC Building from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
A glance at the day’s schedule:
- Livestock shows and building competitions all day, including beef cattle, equine, poultry, sheep and swine shows, and a ground beef contest in the Home Economics Building.
- Free grounds entertainment all day for all ages, including Simply Three, Radatz Magic, and a Pepsi Pong special contest on the Touchstone Energy Stage and the Off Axis Stunt Show, sponsored by AOK RVs.
- The State Fair Firehouse, sponsored by Ditzfeld Transfer, Inc., will offer apparatus and station tours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- 4-H Family and Clover Kid Day at the 4-H Building from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. featuring a 4-H zoo apprentice camp, shooting sports, clover kids’ activities, and more.
- Free live music featuring Ozark Revival, Cedar Creek Band, and Honky-Tonk Dream on the Budweiser Stage.
- Happy Meal Party at the Kids Stage & Kids Zone, sponsored by Your Local McDonald’s from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Oliver Anthony with Davisson Brothers Band at 7:30 p.m. on the State Fair Grandstand, presented by CFM Insurance; Tickets on sale now. Fireworks display, sponsored by Missouri S&T, and Spectacular Drone Show, sponsored by VISITMO.COM, immediately following the concert.
