Lucas Oil Speedway’s annual Kids’ Night Bicycle Giveaway is just two weeks away with more donations of new boys’ and girls’ bicycles needed.

Fans, sponsors or drivers wishing to donate can drop off bicycles at the speedway during weekday business hours, during the Lucas Oil Pro Bull Riding Invitational this Friday and Saturday or during the Big Adventure RV Weekly Racing Series program on June 29.

The Frog’s Signs Junior Fan Club giveaway is set for July 4 during the Casey’s General Store “Thursday Night Thunder” edition of the Big Adventure RV Weekly Racing Series. Bicycles are being collected for youngsters, ages 5-12, who can sign up to win a bike that evening.

Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Danny Lorton said the goal is to top the total of 104 bicycles given away a year ago.

“This is always a highlight of our season, when we are able to provide bikes for some youngsters who might not otherwise be able to have one,” Lorton said. “We want to spread the word and try to get as many bicycles as we can. It would be wonderful to have one for every kid who’s at the races on July 4.”

Youngsters can sign up for the Frog’s Signs Junior Fan Club on the midway upon arrival at the speedway on July 4. Gates will open at 4 p.m. with hot laps at 6:30 and opening ceremonies at 7. The drawing for bicycles will be held during intermission.

Fans also can make cash donations toward purchase of the bicycles. For questions or more details, contact Lisa Lorton at the Lucas Oil Speedway office (417) 282-5984 or via email at [email protected]. The mailing address for donations is Lucas Oil Speedway, 18842 Speedway Drive, 700 East Highway 54, Wheatland, MO 65779.
